Job Title: Service Manager - Truck Dealership

Location: Detroit, MI

Position Summary: The Service Manager will oversee the daily operations of the service department, ensuring efficient workflow, high-quality repairs, and exceptional customer service. This role involves managing a team of skilled technicians, maintaining strong vendor relationships, and driving department performance through effective planning, supervision, and process improvements. The ideal candidate has a strong background in truck or automotive service management, excellent leadership abilities, and a customer-focused approach.

Key Responsibilities:

* Lead and oversee all aspects of the service department, including staffing, workflow management, and quality control
* Ensure prompt, efficient, and high-quality service and repairs for all truck brands and models
* Drive customer satisfaction by maintaining strong communication, addressing service inquiries, and resolving issues effectively
* Develop and implement strategies to achieve performance metrics, such as revenue targets, customer satisfaction scores, and turnaround times
* Train, mentor, and manage a team of technicians and service advisors to enhance skills, improve efficiency, and achieve department goals
* Oversee warranty claims and ensure compliance with warranty processes and manufacturer requirements
* Manage inventory and parts availability in collaboration with the Parts Department to minimize downtime
* Ensure all safety protocols, environmental guidelines, and company standards are adhered to in the service area
* Implement process improvements to increase productivity, reduce costs, and enhance service quality
* Prepare and analyze department reports to monitor progress, identify trends, and make informed decisions

Qualifications:

* 5+ years of experience in a service management role within a truck or heavy equipment dealership or a related industry
* Proven track record in achieving service department goals, customer satisfaction, and managing budgets
* Strong leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse group of employees
* Solid understanding of diesel truck mechanics, maintenance best practices, and warranty processes
* Proficiency in service management software and dealership systems (experience with [mention specific dealership software if applicable] is a plus)
* Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, with a strong focus on customer service
* Valid driver's license required; CDL license is preferred but not mandatory
