Working Conditions

Position is located in San Francisco. This Position is office centered at the Sutro Library with 1 day of telework per week.

Desirable Qualifications

In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:

• Strong customer service skills
• Current or prior experience performing duties equivalent to that of a Library Technical Assistant I
• Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Experience processing interlibrary loans
• Experience duplicating and scanning rare materials.
• A year or more experience with the care, handling, and rehousing needs of special collections and/or fragile collections
• Experience working with genealogists, academic scholars, and graduate and undergraduate students.
• Experience using bibliographic utilities, including integrated library systems (preferably Alma), PCs using a wide range of application software, OCLC functionality, and ArchivesSpace
• Experience with library collections maintenance, including shelving, shelf reading, shifting, weeding and reclassification projects.
