Position Overview:

We're seeking an experienced Director of eCommerce that will be responsible for collaborating cross-functionally to manage and direct all aspects of the ecommerce business. The position will report to the Chief Marketing Officer and will focus on driving incremental revenue, continuously improving the customer experience, optimizing our technical and platform capabilities, and powering operational excellence. The role will work across our executive team and collaborate closely with our Director of Digital Marketing to execute growth strategies. 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, refine and execute e-commerce growth strategies and tactics
  • Lead website development initiatives, including UX/UI improvements, site performance optimization, and new feature implementations
  • Manage our Shopify Plus platform and integrate with other business systems (ERP, OMS, WMS)
  • Manage the technical and operational aspects of our eCommerce ecosystem, including platform management, checkout optimization, and system integrations
  • Oversee site merchandising strategy, including product taxonomy, navigation, and catalog management
  • Drive conversion rate optimization through A/B testing, user research, and analytics
  • Manage relationships with technology vendors, development agencies, and system integrators
  • Collaborate with the Director of Digital Marketing to align on growth initiatives and customer experience improvements
  • Manage the technical aspects of promotions, sales events, and new product launches
  • Ensure website compliance, security, and performance standards
  • Oversee our Customer Service team, their metrics and KPI’s

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of eCommerce experience, with at least 2 years in a senior management role
  • Deep expertise with Shopify Plus and Google Analytics strongly preferred
  • Strong technical understanding of eCommerce architecture, integrations, and best practices
  • Proven experience in conversion rate optimization and user experience design
  • Track record of successful platform migrations, upgrades, or major technical implementations
  • Experience managing development sprints and technical project roadmaps
  • Strong analytical skills with experience using data to drive decision-making
  • Experience overseeing customer service operations at a strategic level
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, or related field
  • Experience in fashion, accessories, or lifestyle brands preferred

Expected salary: $135k - $150k

This position will be full-time and will be based in San Diego at the Knockaround HQ. Minimum of 3 days/week in the office.
