We are seeking a high-performing individual who thrives in a team-oriented environment. This role is a critical contributor to NorthRock’s success, driving valuable insights and information across client portfolios. Our ideal candidate is service-focused and will be responsible for client portfolio management activities, including trading, rebalancing, investment performance review, and asset allocation review. The Associate serves as a business partner to the Investment Team and Client Experience Team and is one of the primary points of contact for Advisors. The ideal candidate will ensure responsive, high-quality client support with a commitment to providing exemplary advice. The Associate may handle incoming questions on client portfolios and investments.

Key Responsibilities/Essential Functions

  • Trading & Portfolio Management
    • Monitor trading requests and be part of the primary team responsible for executing trades.
    • Monitor portfolios for portfolio drift and manage cash balances.
  • Client Portfolio Support
    • Support investment implementation, portfolio rebalancing, and tax-loss harvesting.
    • Generate reports and analyze data for various portfolio management tasks.
    • Prepare performance reports and evaluations.
    • Respond to client inquiries on investment information through verbal and written communication.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Partner with Operations and Client Service teams to ensure accurate, high-quality client deliverables.
    • Coordinate analysis and responses to ad-hoc client and team member inquiries.
  • Technology & Efficiency
    • Learn and adapt to new software and technology.
    • Engage in projects to increase operational efficiency and scalability.
    • Actively participate in training and education programs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

Formal Education & Certification

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Interest in pursuing CFA or CAIA designation.

Knowledge & Experience

  • Preferably 1+ years of experience in the financial services industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, prioritize simultaneous requests, and manage lateral and upwards.
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.

Personal Attributes

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong emotional maturity and professional mindset.
  • Ability to pass a background check.

Work Conditions

  • The employee is regularly required to sit, walk, talk, or hear, frequently using hands for handling or feeling. Occasional reaching with hands and arms may be required, along with lifting up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision for computer use and reading/writing.
